Just weeks after his death at the age of 91, renowned music producer and composer Quincy Jones was bestowed with an honorary Oscar by Hollywood's film academy at a gala on Sunday.

This year's Academy Governors Awards paid tribute to the late composer Quincy Jones, in addition to other giants of the entertainment industry.

Daniel Craig, Angelina Jolie, Paul Mescal, Demi Moore, Adrien Brody, Selena Gomez, Kevin Costner and Pamela Anderson were among dozens of awards hopefuls in the Ovation Hollywood ballroom on Sunday night.

Many of Hollywood’s biggest stars are set to gather in Los Angeles Sunday night for the annual Governors Awards.

Other recipients of Governors Awards include casting director Juliet Taylor, producer and director Richard Curtis, and producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli

Although the Governors Awards ceremony honours only a select few industry veterans, it also serves as the unofficial kickoff of the Oscars race.
